Abuse Protection
This website uses Anubis for bot abuse protection. Anubis sets cookies that are unique to you, and could be used to track you while on this site. The cookies are used for automated abuse protection, no data is kept on the server for more than a few seconds.
What information is being collected?
A challenge is derived from information that your browser automatically sends with every request, including:
- language settings
- current IP address
User-Agentstring, which contains information about your browser and operating system (more information)
This information is scrambled, and your browser is asked to complete a puzzle with it. The result is a token that confirms the completion of the challenge. Extracting the original data from this token is practically impossible.
What is the information being used for?
The information is used to validate that you completed the challenge, and are therefore allowed to access the site. More information can be found here.
Can I use this site without this?
Opting out of a protection mechanism defeats the purpose. Therefore, this site cannot be accessed without it.
Where is my data being stored?
The challenge token and some technical data is stored in cookies inside your browser. With every further page load, the browser presents the cookies to the server for validation. No information is being collected or retained on the server side.
How long is this information being retained?
The cookie automatically expires after one week, but can be manually deleted by you at any time.
Do third parties have access to my data?
No.
Who is responsible for the processing of my data?
Me, see the contact page.
What rights do I have?
You have the right to:
- be informed about the processing of your data. This is this page.
- access your data. You can access the cookies using the tools provided by your browser, and decode the contents using jwt.io.
- rectify the data. Modification of the cookies is not intended, so you will have to delete them, and get new ones on the next site visit.
- have the data erased. Delete the cookies using the tools provided by your browser. This will happen automatically after one week.
- object to or restrict the processing of the data, and avoid automated decision making. Leave the site, delete your cookies (see above). Unfortunately this site cannot be provided without the processing of your data as outlined above.
- move your data to a different provider. The processed data is of no value to other websites. You can technically delete the cookies and get new ones on another site using Anubis.
- complain to the relevant authorities.
